Well guys i haven't been here in a while. But we all come back sooner or later to see whats new or post how we're doing. Last night my 9860 started smoking. I was playing WOW and killing horde pretty heavily at the time (sorry you horde people :P) and it went dead, made sort of a clicking nose and had this burning rubber smell. I opened her up..however i'd just cleaned her out not 3 weeks ago. Guys if you own one of these and you start noticing temp increases..clean her out Anyway..she wasn't that dusty since I'd just cleaned her so Im not sure.. My battery also wasn't charging. I told Luke about that a while ago..I just never got around to RMAing that.. Anyone else had a simular problem..just curious what might have caused it

I rebuilt my desktop...oh i had forgotten how much it sucked compared to my laptop lol

I just sent in my RMA request. Im not really worried about it.. Sager and PCT have been great putting up with my quirks in the past. I just hate playing wow on my sucky 500 ram desktop

Sorry to hear about your 9860, Syn. Second RMA now I guess.

Yeah..you've been out for a while since the last great postings on the 9860 nearly about a year now ago. Big news at the moment is the D900K AMD and the incoming Nvidia 7800 cards....

It will be fine im sure. I tell you it is the best laptop i used. Especially with me on my p4 2.6 500 ram desktop *cries* hehe

Yes its been a while.. though not a year..i pop on and post every couple months. For the most time I game way way way to much..

I heard about the amd one. Thats really great.

OMG Syn, longest time no see! I'm sorry it died on you. I bet it was the WoW plague that did it, eh?

I hope PCT helps you out, considering how long you've been around here.

With all the problems you've had maybe it's time to start getting a little pissed? I know I would. I'd demand my money back and get the dual core AMD one in a couple months. If it's the best laptop you've used I really do feel sorry for you because you shouldn't have to deal with these things imploding.

I have good health (I think heh) I have all i need, its under warranty and i've always been takened care of. Things happen. IT easy to say something shouldn't break down but it can and does. Besides getting pissed really doesn't solve my problems. Being the best laptop i used really has nothing to do with its break down..when it was running it ran and I mean really ran heh..

Heh, Thanks Aussie,long time.. Well for now im smashing horde on my desktop...somehow it just isn't the same.. Actually I like killing horde so much im thinking of rolling on a pvp server :P

Well Sager got my notebook monday. I sent a note today to see the status, the motherboard had to be replaced. Didn't get anymore details then that. Oh I will add they did answer me back within a few hours. Very pleased with that. They also emailed me a couple hours after that with tracking. In monday, out thursday. That is not bad at all. I will have my baby wednesday..then back to Horde killing for me

I have no idea if its a revised board or not. I just got a note back that the power chip was burned on the motherboard, but they dont know what caused it to malfunction. They also didn't check my battery, it stopped holding a charge a while ago. I didn't mention it in the RMA but i did put it on a note when i sent the unit in. Hopefully it was the board that was bad and not charging it. We'll see once it comes, if not i'll have to RMA the battery once it gets here.

Just a update, got my notebook back today. Sent it off regular 5 day shipping..and it was sent back the same day. I know many ask how long it takes for Sager to service. Start to finish took 15 days..and my notebook seems good as new again ..

Time for Horde killing again :P
