Well good as new til it got warm..now i have a billion different colored pixles all over the screen..first it was like a tire track running across the screen so i uninstalled old driver and installed the new drivers and now i have them all over the screen...I run a game i get the blue screen of death. Also when my laptop went up in smoke it seems to have takened my Gyration usb RF hub with it because that no longer works on any pc I try it on. Im not sure what happened to the laptop but looks like the video card might be toast now also... going to try tech support to see what they say about it... I really dont want to send it back again

Hey there, chief Bugger to meet back here under crappy circumstances Sorry to hear that your machine is artifacting now. Gah. Hopefully I didn't cause that just by posting in your thread

As for me, I'm worse off than ever w/ my 8790. And to top it off, I just got a bit of talking to by my boss because my "work computer" is broken so often. I'm still at work (taking a break- figured I'd check in), but when I get time, I'm gonna let the crap roll downhill. I'm not real happy w/ taking grief off the boss for a malfunctioning machine

Dang, really hate to see your new baby get the vidcard sickness. Hope they get you squared away soon!

Im sorry your having issues with yours too... at this point im fairly sure its not a driver issue..had no problems with the old drivers..and the latest drivers did nothing...however running ati tool..it can't find artifacting..yet im looking at it now all over my screen... Running Wow which is..lets face it..not that intensive, gives me blue screen of death *shivers*.. Always good to see you FT

I'm sorry. Nothing's worse than your pride & joy up and start wiggin' out on you. Do you know how much the upgrade will cost?

Luke states that the upgrade is $995.00 in the Announcement section in the 7800 thread. Would imagine Syn might get a discount, though, for all the trouble she's having (or at least, I would hope they'd give her a cut).

7800 isn't quite out yet..I talked to Luke and got a nice letter from Sager. Between them they are upgrading me to the 6800 ultra (currently have ATI X800), at no charge. (huggles Luke) Im still within the first year warranty also..though that is running out hehe..

Hehe, whatever happens.. PCT has been great to me on the after service and support end of it..

FT so sorry you are getting hassled at work. I saw your other post. Keep us updated on whats going on with you. Will you have to buy a different brand now?

Hey i currently have the same problem, the over heating. It will be at in CA, sager monday and they will take a look at it. i really hope they fix it, it seems like sagernotebooks doesn't really "fix" the laptops when you send them in and then you have to have pc torque set them straight...all the time...

I do agree that pc is a great company and they are they only reason why I'm sticking with my sager at this point...

Goodluck with yours getting fixed FW. I honestly think they fixed it last time. However, when it went up in smoke it seems to have taken several parts with it.. my usb rf base for my wireless keyboard stopped working the instant the notebook shorted. It also seems to have takened my video card with it...now im concerned my processor might have been harmed..so many things to go wrong that i need corrected.

Great to hear that you're being take care of, Syn. I don't really think anyone here's surprised at that, either.

As for me, Sager hasn't been banned (surprisingly, actually), just my particular machine (more details in my Live from Japan thread).

Same exact thing happen to my 9880, I drove to sager in CA they are local to me.
By this Monday the let me know what’s wrong

My sager only 40 days old.

See my post on visiting sager in CA

Mine's about 10 months old and has slowdown problems due to overheating (as speculated by a lot of people). I ordered some compressed air and will clean it out ASAP and I hope that fixes the slowdown problem. If not, RMA time and hopefully they'll be able to do something about it as I'm unsure if they'll consider it broken. They should though since it's a gaming machine and it's not letting me play games properly so it's definately not working as intended.

Well, it's good know to know they're helpin you out (GPU upgrade, too! Nice!).

I have posted very rarely on these forums except when I was going to buy the 9860 with the 6800 Go. I bought it December 2004. The machine is still a beauty and runs as fast as it did before and I keep it 24/7 on (and in sleep mode when I am not using it). I play WOW like crazy. The only problem I have had is WOW crashes sometimes and once I got a blue screen of death. I don't know if its WOW related or 9860 related. But so far no complaints PCTorque and Sager rock. Synergi hope this will be the last time you have to send in your laptop.

I want to ask for advice from you guys. I am nearing the 11th month of my 1-year warranty. I can renew as long as I am within 11 months of warranty (that's what Sager rep told me). Do you guys advice me to take an extended warranty, say atleast for another year? I am leaning towards taking a warranty.

Thanks.
If you intend to keep it another year, I'd get the extended warranty if you can.

SYN!
Your review/input was one of the reasons I ended up with a 9860 which I love as well! I've had some issues with it too (dead DVD R/W and dead Motherboard) and, as you've said, SAGER has great customer service.
