Trying to buy new disk enclosure for Dell 9300

Hi,
I have a Dell 9300 with a 60gig internal drive
I've formatted it and optmized it to my liking
I've purchased a second hard disk - another 60gig 7200pm
I've been able to reformat, repartition and put on Ubuntu Linux

I'm looking to purchase an internal hard disc caddy and connector for the new hard disc, so that if I want to boot up Linux, I can just quickly remove the whole enclosure and slot in the new enclosure

I don't want to have to continually remove the screws, remove the old hard disc, put in the new one, then put in the screws in again and then put on the connector and then put everything back in, if I want to switch

From information I believe I got from this forum, I think the part number for the internal caddy and connector are G5044 and 8267R respectively

I contacted Dell support and they told me that the items weren't covered under warranty (which is fine by me, since they're not damaged, I just want another one). They suggested I call spare parts on 800-372-3355

I called spare parts today and they told me that they only sell this as a kit which includes the hard disc and the total comes to $220. Which is ridiculous

Since I believe someone has already has purchased this internal caddy and connector, is there an email or telephone number with the correct part number to use to purchase this item

From what I remember of the post I saw, it may have been someone who contacted Dell canada

I've left another note for Dell support, but if anyone has anything to suggest let me know

Btw, I know I can dual boot Linux and Win XP from the same hard disc, but I don't want to go down that road

Thanks
Richard

Where on Newegg, Amazon and Staples ??

Hi Dell-Machina
I wasn't aware you could purchase an internal hard disk caddy and connector for the 9300 on Newegg, Amazon and Staples.
Can you point me to a link for the internal caddy, for those sites ?
Thanks
Richard
