Eyes on the Alienware m9700 :d.
Yo guys, here's a newbie from the shores of Singapore. I'm pretty torn up with my choices on getting a nice notebook. But i figure that i like the m9700 model. The reason i actually reply on this thread is because of the few branches, US, UK , France, Australia branch was the one who replied to my email. Huzzah
Anyway, as far as their sales rep has told me, the final price of whatever it is being set up there will remove the 10% tax but shipping will cost me 249 ( believed to be AUD ) and i'm still subjectible to pay for GST in my side[ For the cost price of the system including shipment and insurance ]( and there's always a nice estimation of currency conversion as either 1.18 SGD to 1 AUD or on the safe side, 1.2 SGD to 1 AUD ). So once i have made up my mind, i will definately go for it
It's just a pity that alienware seems a little late to adopt hi-end notebooks using both core duo 2 and the Go 7900 series cards. Though i don't really mind m9700's turion64, the battery life of at most 2 hours is of a big concern to me :X [ Being because if you have to import from outside, good luck man, you are on your own ]. Are there any testimonies which see slightly prolonged battery life ? [ And getting a spare battery is not only costly, but there's a chance i might kill my spare battery's life by leaving it charged at 100% and shortening its life ]
And is the m5750 a good alternative? [ I've heard it does enjoy up to 2 and a 1/2 hours of battery life on occasions ].
