Congrats, 'Pants. Hang in there, deskBound. (Speculation: if people stopped calling 10 times a day, the 2 people who work in Adelaide for AW Australia would have time to put the computers together!)...JUST KIDDING!!! I only dealt with Nial once, as my ordering and original delivery was fairly straightforward. Adam, in tech support, was my lifeline while I went through warranty repairs - I've nothing but good things to say about his helpfulness.

(Off topic note - sitting in LAX, awaiting my flite to Sydney. Can't wait to get home and hook up my just-delivered 24" Dell LCD to my reborn Aurora 7500 )

ok i couldnt wait.. i booted it up while at work just to have a glance...

No dead pixels... all parts are there.. .its works....

i agree with shazza... and guys after getting mine and playing quake IV all night last night... trust me.. you dont need the newer laptops.. these things are sweet

Hi guys,

I ordered my Area-51m from ALienware Australia, and I have had it for about 3 weeks or so now. It's easily been worth the bloody piss poor CS and delayed shipping. If you haven't already read my view, you can find it here:http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=111666
Hope you all eventually get your machines and are as happy as me with them.

P.S. I got emailed by an Alienware Aus rep who had read my review on this forum, and he was most interested in my disapproval with the CS. He says they are working on it, and was glad that people like me were open and honest about the whole process. It was a pretty long email, and when I find it I might post it for all to see. It's obvious they care about the customer, they're just nowhere near ready to serve the demand. All I can say is voice your concerns and who knows, maybe some lucky kid in the future will get his machine ON TIME!

Just be sure to get permission before doing so if it was from an AW account. It will have a legal disclaimer in the sig stating it is for the recipient only and not to be passed around. It really shouldn't be a big deal, but the simple courtesy of asking first will keep the rep and you out of trouble.

ok just talked to nial he said we are about 3 months behind the states in regards to the new laptops, which is not unusual in regards to anything.

We just introduced 'pants' into our society, guess asking for the new laptops was a bit much.

You guys are great. People have just posted letters in the open forum before without any care of the other people involved. It was always crazy to have to hurry up and at least edit out names and other personal info. That is really my only concern. Its good to see that Alienware Australia picked up on your issues.

I notice that you ordered the day before i did and got it a week ago - damn that day of hesitation from me! Oh well, if The Beast was on my desk do think I'd be studying? The way it's going I'll be finished all my coursework and I'll have nothing but time on my hands...
