Inspiron 8200 Zip Disk Module Problems

So Ive got a Modular 653NH ZIP 250 drive, since XP SP2 came out Ive been having problems when I want to try to use it(yes i live in the stone age, all the desktops at the labs at school have zip drives so I use it time to time). Any how I would like a remedy. Before the machine even boots it gets the "Dell white screen of Failure" that says the device in the modular drive cannot be recognized, but my Modular CDRW and HDD work fine.

Yikes. I think the drive has finally conked out on you and sadly considering the nature of the drive it might just be cheaper if you bought an external drive. However if you still want to take the chance with an internal one

Ebay is always a great resource good luck.

lol I got the original brand new off ebay for $25 at the time. The drive still spins up and will work sometimes as long as I insert it after the bios loads but before windows loads. Maybe I need to try to go back a bios revision.
