How long did it take to get your laptop back? its been about 2 weeks for me and its still in diagnostics they say
post #2 of 47
Sent it to them Tue 13th at 14:30. Arrived there 14th 10:30. They shipped it back Thur 22nd and it got back to me Mon 26th.

Dodgy DHL taking longer to get it back to me than it does to get to them

They say it was a graphics card replacement (6800 ultra), though it seemed they sent me back an entirely new case since it had all the plastic scratch covers over everything.

Also I'm UK based so if your system is with US support how long things took for me do not really apply.

Sent mine in on Aug 20th. They didnt receive it until Aug 31st. It is now Oct 3, and they say its still in diagnostics. Everytime i call in, they tell me that its due to the weather, and due to switching buildings, but its been over a month now. The ONLY thing they offer me to make it better is two day shipping when it fixed. Im not a happy camper here, so last time i called in i spoke with a supervisor Alex, and said that if it was not done by friday (7th), that i wanted to arrange a return... I know there gonna try and stick me with the 15% re-stocking fee which i dont think is fair since i only had it for a week before it went out (some parts fried), but hey, i just want this to be OVER

BTW This is in the US

Sent mine in on Sept 1. It came back on Sept 28. Motherboard crapped out on me. I got a lot of the same jive talk about weather affecting the delay on my lappy. Its back though and im fragging away again so all is well. It took a very long time but patience rewarded itself finally.

You guys do know what a hurricane is, right?
do you know what customer service is?

'zing'

customer service dont mean squat if theres a hurricane tearing the place apart. Customer service doesn't float, least not that i know of.
it sorta does.. i mean... did the hurricane tear their depot down?

fair enough if they get bad weather and their warehouse gets floaded... but if there just in the area of a bad storm and use it as an excuse (Im NOT saying thats what there doing) then it is once again bad CS....

i guess this one is just down to personal opinion

Do you do anything but whine in your posts?

Oh yeah, I see you whine while giving out neg rep too. By the way, it won't affect my rep since you're such a noob. Gotta have some juice before you can be a proper jackass.

And as a matter of fact, I've had pretty good service from AW. Much better than your lip service, smartmouth.

The past few months have seen AW moving into new facilities at the same time the hurricanes were peppering Florida.

I can understand frustration with delays, but ya kinda have to give them the weather thing.

*turns on the news to see someone floating down the road on his laptop*

'hmmm wonder if that'll void the warranty'

They only gave me the hurricane excuse for the week and a half shipping it took for my laptop to get to them. So, whats the excuse for the month that they have actually had my laptop with them, trying to figure out what is wrong with it? Whats the excuse for the lack of communication? Overall, yes, i would agree that there is a lack of good customer service. I mean hay, they already got my 5 thou.

well im still waiting and the hurricane excuse is nonexistant for me because there have been no hurricanes that way since i sent in the computer. im in atlanta so i dont see why shipping would take so long too.
I sent mine in, the motherboard crapped out on me. Im wondering if it is because this thing gets so hot, that cant be good for the computer. I also use a laptop cooler and it helps a bit not much. Anyone else seem to have motherboard issues with the 7700??

I thought Alienware offered at home service. Don't any of you have it?

Also, it's easy to make light of the hurricanes when you don't have to go through it. I spent 24hrs. on the road in my Corolla evacuating. A trip that would normally take 4 hrs. It sucks bad, and then wondering if you will have anything to come back to.

I "revacuated" to find no new NickelBack CD anywhere in Baytown, TX...Rita and her sister is the excuse. Went to Soundwaves today in Houston and they had one left of the limited shipment they received yesterday.

Just a Rock 'N' Roll example of the shipping backlog in the U.S. and specially in the south. Something tells me NickelBack did not deliberately cause my Jones...
