fair enough if they get bad weather and their warehouse gets floaded... but if there just in the area of a bad storm and use it as an excuse (Im NOT saying thats what there doing) then it is once again bad CS....

i guess this one is just down to personal opinion
From what I understand, when a hurricane of this magnitude comes, they pack all their workstations, and machines under construction into secure storage, and batten down the hatches to try to minimize damage to the facilities and product.

After the storm passes, they undo what they did before.

Delays happen, bitching about it just makes you more tense, so chill out, have a sangria, and your computer will be back in your hands before you know it.

It's their standard on site warranty. They will send parts and a technician to your home if you insist, but with laptops, it's hard to find qualified technicians in a lot of areas.

I figure with something this expensive, I'd rather have AW take care of the repairs. It takes two weeks to a month usually, depending on the number of computers in for repair.

If there's a hurricane right after they move into new buildings, it apparently takes a little longer.

i had a technichian come and fix the lcd finally. When we first met it wasnt the person who originally made the call. While he was making the repair he literally told me he didnt know what he was doing. He ended scratching the screen while in the process of repairing it. He did replace the inverter board and the computer now does turn on, alienware is sending me a new graphics card now since the issue still isnt fixed. Just thought id update

wow this is really scaring me a lot. I got my 7700m and the first day I had it it died flat out. They sent me another ac adapter after I told them that wasn't the problem. I have worked with computers a whole lot.... I am sure more than anyone at aw.... and I knew that wasn't the problem. Ok, 14 days later I get the stupid adapter.. guess what still doesn't work, who would have guessed.
So now my $3700 laptop is on its way back to the depot. I swear (any alienware reps listening to this take note) if the laptop does not return to me in perfect working order as it should I will return it and simply dispute my credit card charge. (you can take your restocking fee and .. um well you know)
(guys sorry for the venting but this is insane)
What kind of company is this? I think the burrito joint down the road has more intelligence and customer service than these clowns.
I can clearly see that it was a huge mistake to buy aw.
So many people having problems.

pain1701: I consulted a friend of mine who works for the state department of the US. He says that if they cannot fix the problem and you are at an impass with them demanding a 15% restocking fee to call the office of the US attourney general. This will solve that problem.

(note I am giving aw a chance..... 1 more chance. if they screw up again that is it....)

again sorry guys just upset...

God, it makes me feel both glad I turned up twice lucky in the Alienware lottery (2 year old 766 still going strong and 1 week old 7700 in perfect condition) and fearful for the fate of my 7700 down the line. I think AW should focus less on getting their brand image out there in such movies and TV shows as Friday night's episode of 'Twins', and more on hiring competent tech and adhering to their "200 point" inspection invention.
