A screen upgrade will cost you a small fortune. It's not like they take back the old one and charge you just the difference between the two. You have to pay for a brand new 16.1 display.
Try dropping the chip down a notch or get the cd-burner instead of the dvd-burner. Heck, get 512mb instead of the 1gb. I think you might even be able to get a single 512mb module and then simply up the memory with a single chip later.
Could just be my preference to the 16.1 or my dislike of the widescreen format in a 4X3 lid. Maybe if the widescreen had a case designed specifically for it, it would look better.
Also, do yourself a favor and nix the internal WiFi option. I have only heard one person claim that it worked great for him and I think that was because he lived on a farm (I dont know if it was a funny farm). The internal WiFi was a nightmare to get it to work to keep it working to get it reworking when it stopped. It had a 10ft range maybe if you were really lucky you could squeeze 15ft (I couldn't). Moreso it was a continuous source of aggravation knowing and expecting to get a great WIFI signal only to be tossed into an "I got ripped" type feeling. Should you decide to get it anyway be prepared for the eventual call to tech support where they will have you uninstall drivers reinstall Windows XP and all sorts of things that will take you hours only to discover that it didnt help one bit and now your video drivers are messed up and sound isnt working. All because you failed to take the advice of an AW owner 8-)
There are literally hundreds of posts on the wifi issues on their support site but you can't get to it till your a AW customer.
I actually had to send my first Area51m2 back due to problems and re-ordered the Cyborg Green one with all the trimmings except for the WiFi option. It arrived last week and it is awesome. I never really got to enjoy the Silver one much because I was instantly thrust into the "Wifis not working" cue.
I can't tell you how happy I am with my new one though. It's done everything I asked and played every game without so much as a stutter. I play need for speed underground at 1024X768 all textures and every ingame graphic option maxxed out except for light trails and motion blurr (because those two just look sucky) and my ATI9600 is set to 6XAA and 16XAF.
