Gentoo Hppa on the i6000

Ok heres the deal, downloaded HPPA gentoo and burned it to a CD , the iso is on the CD, finalized it, and when i try to boot from the CD it says there is no bootable thingy mabober. Anyone tell me what im doing wrong? im a total noob when it comes to Linux, was going to try out Gentoo because i like the UI and i need to learn linux


I have a Inspiron 6000, if you didnt get that from the subject of this thread.

did you mount the iso to the cd and not just burn the file to it?

download an app called burnatonce and use that to mount the iso.

Edit: no, you dont like the gentoo UI.Use something else like suse or ubuntu. Gentoo is the hardest distro out there, noobs shouldnt be using it.

o lol, mount the iso.. yeah i usually do all my mounting from within windows

did you just burn the file onto the cd? or did you tell your burn program to burn an image and use your iso as the image?
