setting up wireless on apple

I know yous love these type of questions , so ...I just bought a Netgear router and was hoping someone could help me out with how to set up a secure wireless on OSX going to Windows notebooks. I have everything set up and the notebooks pick up the wireless fine, I just need to know how to secure it. I tried searching around but most stuff is telling how to secure it on Windows and the software it came with doesn't really work on a Mac. If someone could tell me what to do or give me a link it would be greatly appreciated.

If you click on the Airport icon in the menubar and select "create network" it'll let you input a WEP key.

there's software for the setup? so no web interface?

Yeah, you have to go to Utilities folder and then Airport admin utility. From there do what Kakaze said. I think Netgears have a disk, not web interface. Its funny, cause on Linksys routrs you have to connect to the internet to setup the router, but without the router, you cant connect to the web........funny aint it

just to clarify, u don't have to connect to the internet u just have to connect to the router, preferably by ethernet to do admin stuff. i.e.-u could set up a wireless router to simply have a home network w/ access to the internet. the ip is just the local address that the router is assigned.

but as u said, apparently the netgears don't interface this way.

Airport Admin utility is only for airport base stations.
