XPS2 Bios in 9300 - Page 5

Yeah but after you install the Bios you are stuck carrying around the huge power brick, Its possible if they could mod either the XPS2 or 9300 bios you would not need such a large power supply just to boot the laptop.

do you need the power brick AND the 9 cell battery for it to work or is it the 9 cell battery OR the power brick ? after reading all the posts on this topic, I'm kinda confused on what you ll need to make the ultra or the 7800 work on the 9300.... the heatsink if i understand correctly comes with the 7800/6800ultra right ? so technically , its just the modded BIOS, the 7800, and the 9 cell batt right ?

You need the 130 watt brick and the 9 cell battery. I just ordered the power brick myself and it should be here tomorrow... After that, we will see...

Glad to hear you 9300 owners are upgrading!!

I'd be interested in knowing how the lowest spec 9300 runs with an Ultra....

hit me up if you want any pointers on OCing your Ultra... I hope no one here is getting rebooting cards.... that would suck major ass...

Not sure yet. I am going to wait and see when some of you guys upgrade to 7800 GT's and get your Ultras. Why go through dell for what I can get that I know works and was properly maintained. 6 mos from now when the price comes down and availability is up that 7800 GT does look mighty tempting... and I bet there will still be a market for 6800 U's then... Either way I am in a wait and see mode. Right now I want to know from people smarter than me who do these mod things if it works. Then I will go ahead and look to do it.

AAAARRRGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Order delayed for the 6800 Ultra, now it is supposed to be shipped out on the 14th instead of today. Damn it, I am going to go bitch at Dell now.
