UXGA Wide Angles vs SXGA+

I was wondering if anyone could give me information about the differences between the UXGA Wide-Angles screens and the SXGA+ screens. I realize that the resolutions are different and that you can view the UXGA WA screens better when viewing them from the side, top, etc. What I’m interested in is brightness and clarity when sitting right in front of one. Is there much of a difference in actual clarity and brightness? I’ve seen a lot of Toshiba laptops lately that have this sort of glass or clear plastic over top of the displays and the clarity of the displays is unbelievable. It’s almost like looking at a very nice HDTV. Any idea what is different about those displays? Do the UXGA WA displays compare to those? Do you have any good pictures of UXGA screens in actions? Any info would help. Thanks.
The reason I'm asking is I'm looking to buy a 5680 and don't know if I want the UXGA WA upgrade.

Brightness would depend on the LCD screen manufacturer specs, not on the resolution.

The clear/glossy displays use a different kind of anti-glare technology. You would see a little more glare but the resulting image is not distorted. Non-glossy displays reflect light at different angles making the resulting image not so clear.

If you are looking into a laptop with the clear/glossy lcd (like the tosh), the 4080 (w/c im getting) and 3750 have them. I do not know the exact brightness/viewing angle of these though.

I wish there were a wide 17" glossy LCD.

Dangit

OK. So now you've got me interested in the 4080. It's cheaper and has the kind of screen I'm looking for. Now for the big question. For gaming, is dual-channel DDR that much better than single channel? I know the theoretical (double bandwidth), but I've seen a lot of benchmarks that say the reality is more like a 5-15% performance increase. Has anyone used similar systems where one has single-channel and the other has double? I need a good comparison.
