hey man I have been wondering the same thing I know you can do it I just dont know how hard it is to get to them and if its worth taking the chance. Also Im thinking blu emight be a bit destracting there because blue leds are bright as hell idk how they have the leds facing theyre though you could always open up your laptop and see

Ya. What the hell is up with those nasty yellow green LEDs lol. Not very attractive in my opinion. Blue or Red LEDs could be nice.

finally some people that agree!!!!!

i was on a flight yesterday, and saw an HP with lots of blue lights up top.

must have been like 12 of them....it was a little annoying, but i think 1-3 lights wouldnt be as bad...

DAMN THE old school greenies (:

i toook the power button cover off...the lights are tiny, and look a little scurry!!!

hey chevy hook me up with a pic of the lights so I can see what they look like. Also if you could take some pics of the dissasembly proccess I'd greatly appreciat it. I would immagine they are 3mm leds right? If so I have like 30 of them haha. If anyone wants some I'll sell em to you dirt cheap. They were for my xbox but I got a little to many haha. Thanks

I never opened it, but if they are surface mount LED's then good luck, anything else though will be a simple swap of the same type.

they are LED chips, very small and very hard to replace, unless you are good with soldiering and dissasembly

A blue LED require higher voltage than red, green and yellow ones, so it might be not so bright.

^ hmm.. never knew that.

But personally, I don't mind of the Blue/Green LED lights since the laptop is white/silver to begin with, a green/blue led color doesn't look at bad... and to the positive side to the green, it seperates the colors so you know which is which on your laptop (blue is for bluetooth, green is for wifi )
