Hey all,
I did a quick search but didn't find a thread with suggestions -- but if I'm mistaken, I'll try again.
I'm looking for suggestions about TV tuners -- either PCMCIA or USB 2.0. I was thinking about the
KWORLD TvUSB7011R USB (taken from Newegg's title) and the ATI 100-703156 USB 2.0 Interface TV Wonder USB 2.0 TV Tuner (also from Newegg) for USB 2.0; my second thought, if I go the PCMCIA route, would be the AVerMedia MTVCARDBUS TV Tuner PCMCIA Card. All but the ATi seem to get good reviews.
My considerations are these (in order):
1) CPU usage. The lower, the better, as my undervolted 755 still runs hot at full throttle.
1.01) Display quality. The higher, the better, obviously, but I don't want to stare at a 2"x3" box for an hour.
2) Price. Preferably lower than $100, and I don't particularly care about a remote (nice if I have one, oh shucks if I don't). Other features -- amazing software or great encoding -- I won't be burning to DVD, so I'm not too worried about that. Maybe CD, but once in a long while if ever.
3) Ease of use. Don't make me download a ton of plugins or patches to make it run, and don't make me close every other program before I can listen to unchoppy sound.
Any ideas?
