problem with cl56...

So my cousin was playing counter-strike on my CL56 without plugging the batteries. So after a few hours, the laptop went on standby because of low batteries, and the screens shuts off. I recharged the laptop, but the screen is still blank! I turned it off and turn it back on, but the screen doesn't show.. I hear my HD/FAN runnning. The screen just doesn't display anymore after it went standby. Does anyone have any solution to this problem?thanks

A few other people on this site have had this same problem with the CL56. If I remember correctly, the solution in those cases was to reset the BIOS by shorting the jumper (with the tip of a screwdriver) that is located near the memory slots. I think you have to remove the memory to get to it.

You should be able to find the posts that discuss this with a bit of searching. Hope this helps and good luck.

I haven't had a reason to reset the BIOS on my CL56, so keep in mind I'm not talking from experience. "Shorting" the jumper means to connect both sides of the jumper together using something that conducts electricity (like the tip of a small screwdriver). Before you reset the BIOS, make sure you disconnect the AC adapter and remove the laptop battery. I'm attaching some pictures to help you find the jumper. Good luck!
