iBook screens washed out?

I was at my local CompUSA store checking out there laptops, and I am really considering the 12" ibook for it's size and battery life. My only concerns are about the display. I would really like a widescreen display, but anyone that compares to the ibook with a widescreen is alot more, and also while I was at CompUSA the screen of the iBook look very bad, it was washed out and the colors looked pretty bad. This might not be a good representation of the screen though because it was the older revision of the iBook(1.2GHz and 256mb RAM) and it looked pretty beat up. But the 12" Powerbook was right next to it and it's screen look alot better. Was the ibook just old or does it have a worse screen than the powerbook?

The 12 inch iBooks and PowerBooks should have the same screens in them.

There are rumours of a widescreen 14 inch iBook, but it's not known when it will be available.

alright, i think that display had just been used a little bit too much. i'm still not sure about the screen though, i guess i'll have to take a trip to the apple store.
