I got an open-box laptop at Fry's Electronics. I got the HP DV1150US. It has the following:
-Pentium M 1.6GHz
-512MB RAM
-80GB HD
-14" WXGA
-DVD +/-RW CD-RW drive
-6 in 1 media card reader
-built in wireless internet
-(3) 2.0 USB ports
It was open box but came with all the accessories and carries all the return policy rights as a brand new item. It looked absolutely flawless as if the person bought it and returned it the next day.
The whole setup cost $799 and I bought a 3-year extended warranty for $150. It was kind of an impulse buy since I only went there to play with the laptops to get a better idea of what screen sizes I liked. I have 15 days to return it for a full refund so I'd like to know what you all think of this buy.
By the way, I'm only using the laptop for grad school (word processing, spreadsheets, web surfing, etc.) and no gaming or desktop publishing stuff.
