I made a chart to compare notebooks for myself. it was a pain looking at all the specs over and over again and everything. I thought id post it here to help out anyone in the same boat.
So here are some things that will help you interpret this:
*I dont care much about a dvd burner
*if they are charging excessive amounts for ram, i didnt buy any extra
*i dont want windows
*ME LOVE HIGH RESOLUTIONS
*my friend bought a sony FS and was driving me crazy about how good it was, so i put it in between the 700m and the i6000 just to regain my sanity and convince myself that it does actually suck
*i want to do a pinmod, so a sonoma chipset is important
*i prefer nvidia/intel graphics over ATI cause ati makes crappy linux drivers
*gaming is important but if it costs too much ill still always have my desktop.
*60gb hdd is all im going for
I have dimensions/specs/prices for the sager 5720, 5320, dell i700m, i6000, i9300, m170, asus z70Va, and the sony FS.
One thing i noticed is that the dells are no longer competitive with the other systems without the huge coupons. I had to go coupon hunting just to get the prices down to the ones in the chart. removing the big coupons has hardly made buying a dell computer any easier. it just made it more expensive.
anyone know a place to upload the ods/xls files?
also, if anyone wants to fix any errors or add other lappys, that would be great. i just need to upload this damn thing
