hmm
1) make sure your SE is set to discoverable BT.
2) make sure you turned on your lappy BT.

also use the drivers for BT provided for HP/WIDCOMM rather than windows built-in.

Pureflow...i've already tried that already...still the window pop up was :

"Bluetooth device not found.
Please verify that your bluetooth device is properly connected and turned on."

Was told that i need to send the Lappy to Service Center.....

Check with HP to see if there is a service center near you that you can take it to and have them repair it...

This may sound stupid but are you sure that there is a bluetooth card etc.. installed?? You would get the message described above if one were not. It is possible that one was not installed even if a bluetooth device is listed in device manager. On HP's website it lists the bluetooth as optional for the nc6230.

I ran into this on my Toshiba P25. I had assumed that it came with bluetooth(because the spec mentioned it) and went and bought a MX900 Bluetooth mouse to use with the lappy and ran into what you describe. Come to find out even though a Bluetooth device was listed/installed in device manager there was no card installed. So ended up also having to buy one of the Toshiba Bluetooth SD cards. Toshiba automatically installs the Toshiba Bluetooth stack by default even though there was no physical bluetooth card.

That sucks when the company specs say it comes with something and you are paying for that in the price of the notebook and you don't get it.

Well he took it apart to check the connections... Monday Im sure he will bring parts... Because you have an On-Site warranty there may be a replacement clause in it... Something like if they cant fix it in X amount of business days they replace it?

this is 1 thing home laptops compared to business laptops have it better 3 years warranty.

business laptops only have 1 year. eg. the NX,NW 8xxx series
