Well if you go to Dell.com you will see the luxury systems finally came out. Is there a difference in the design not that i can tell. the XPS notebook still looks the same but it has the 7800 in it that really catches my eye. What are your opinions on it. Is paying 4,400.00 for just a 7800 GTX worth it? cant you just upgrade it from the existiing dell XPS2 chasis as it is the same chasis. Any thought? Ideas?

9300: p-m 2, 1gb, 6800 256, 80gb 7200rpm, 9cell, dvdrw, xp pro, 17" screen
$2957 - 20% off coupon = $2365.50
XPS gen 2: p-m 2, 2gb (wouldnt let me change it), 6800 256, 80gb 7200rpm, 9cell, dvdrw, xp pro, 17" screen
$4049 - 375 = $3674.00
XPS M170: p-m 2, 1gb, 7800 256, 80gb 7200rpm, 9cell, dvdrw, xp pro, 17" screen
$3,673.00
price mark up for 1gb -> 2gb for 9300 & xps m170 = $275
so pretty much you are paying $3948 for the xps w/ 7800 video card
where you could get the same w/ 6800 & 2gb ram XPS for $3674.00
or the (99.9% same) 9300 for $2,585.60 (20% off increases to 646.40 from $591.40)

For that price you could have two desktops with lcd panels loaded to the gills and the graphics too boot
OR, bought a desktop loaded to the gills with an LCD and 7800 card then bought a lower priced notebook or outlet notebook for surfing and work
and paid the electric bill

Considering I bought my xps gen 2 for $2300 CND new from dell I think I did ok. A comparable system with comparable resolutions for an LCD screen would have cost more, granted the LCD would be 23" but not to bad of a price considering it is a laptop and weights less than 10 pounds... don't know of any desktops with comparable weight and specs
