Hi guys

I seem to have a problme there cause the playback should work as even a 1.6 P-M of another lapi can play the file.

I have the latest drivers and stuff installed and have no clue where the problem lies.

Any suggestions where to start would be great.

Btw here the link to the files.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...tShowcase.aspx

Download the Amazonia movie. The one stutters with me terribly. The speed will pick up btw if it starts slow.

Thanks guys

Damn then there must be something wrong with my machine or WinXP Setup.

Any suggestion where the problem might be or where to start to fix it?

Thanks

does the skipping occur on anything else? worst comes to worst a clean format solves many if not all of these kind of problems

Hi

Thanks for the answer.
No everything else plays fine but I guess my CPU load is kinda too high or something cause when I try to play the file with WMP10 it is at 100 %.
I tried turning off FanGUI and Speedswitch or set them to max performance but no difference at all.

The clean format I kind of wanna avoid as this takes pretty long till everything is back as it was

Cu and thansk for the help
Any new suggestions?

**Troubleshooting**

Q: Why video/audio is playing back very choppy, what can I do?

A: Currently OEM ship their PC's with drivers and such poorly configured.

Came up with that on Microsofts website. Try using a different set of drivers and if you can test the hardware acceleration option by trying it once enabled and once disabled.

OK I did it

Did a complete reinstall of winxp pro with all updates and new system drivers including chipset, newest omega for GFX.

Still no difference, what the hell is wrong here?
I come to believe that it really is the HD that has the trouble cause thats the only thing I changed lately.

Please guys, help me I am really out of options now

It could be the hard drive but no minor issue could be at fault here. Could be overheating. Im out of options on what you could do. Try looking for the hardware acceleration option in the omega drivers and like i said try it once on and once off. I'll ask the A/V forums see what they come up with.

Just to reclarify the VIdeo is Stuttering but not lagging right?

Lagging = The video being out of sync with the sound

Stuttering = Plays then stops, plays then stops, repeat rinse and recycle process over and over

UPDATE: I talked the the AVS gurus and apparenty the Radeon 9x00 series has a crippled WMV HD acceleration which is limited by the system chipset. One guy whos set up is pretty nice says he gets Lag/Stutter on anything over 720p. He states that 1080p just cant be played on Radeon systems smoothly without a huge system upgrade not to mention the WMV HD patch that windows provides to enable acceleration is also broken because having the option on will reduce overall cpu but will not keep the video in sync with sound properly. SO the videos you play are limited to 720p and below got that?

Hi

First thanks for all the asking around but I have to tell you this.
I have a desktop with a Radeon 9800 card and a Nforce2 and it plays the video smooth.

And yes I have stuttering NO lagging on my laptop.

Also the other notebook I have here, the Acer I mentioned above, has a Radeon 9700 card and the mentioned Pentium M1,6 and plays the video just fine or at least better then my laptop.

Those facts let me came to the conclusion that there must be something wrong with my setup cause my laptop with the "better" specs cannot play it or at least not without stuttering.

I also tried those patches for WMP10 and they helped at least a bit but the playback is not completely smooth still stuttering.

The only hardware thing I changed lately was the HD but that is like 4 month ago. This really suxx as my laptop should be able to play those files without a problem.

Thanks again for all the asking you did. If you come across some more info please let me know

Thanks

PS: Maybe someone else with the same specs as me can have a go and try oh and I exchanged my IBM 60GB 7200 for the Seagate 5400 100GB just for your info
