extended desktop with 5660 question

I can not get my notbook to extend its display. I am connected to a 15 inch monitor and I can mirror just fine, however I can not extend (or have 2 desktops).
I'm sure it's user error, any help would be great.

Looks like win 2000 doesn't support extended display

Looks like I will need to upgrade to XP Pro...
