Don't break your machines guys.

Ouch................ as I always said.. extreme risky voltmodding...
prona.. are you still in warranty?

Call them and don't tell them that you mod you thing...

Tell them that every games look bugged + lagging

I hope I am not scaring you...
Um...that would be a lie because there aren't artifacts at default clock (which they should be at) haha. The artifacts don't bother me I guess, I don't see them in games. It's just massive artifacts or anything. It's just once every 2 seconds or so.

There's one time happens like this:

ATITool... The furry box turns out all yellow dots and then my whole PC freeze.

I feel the need to quote my original post from page 1

Messing with voltages is where I draw the line. The engineers know more than we do.
You CAN permanently damage your video card by doing this.

Dudes, don't do this if you're not willing to take the chances... You do the mod, you break it, you take the loss. Dell shouldn't. It's totally, entirely your fault sorry to say it.

I fried a Radeon 9700Pro back when they were still pretty expensive. Did I go to ATi crying about it and trying to get a RMA by lying? No. That's just the way it is with overclocking and modding. YOU'RE TAKING A RISK.

Nah, they'll go crying to Dell with their tail between their legs.

We can thank shoman for such an insightful way of frying the 6800GO

I don't really feel like going through all 15 pages of this thread, has anyone actually had positive results? I'm talking more than a gain of 2-3 FPS.
Yeah, one guy seemed to have gotten pretty good results, but got scared and put it back to default.

So basically... No?

Dude, who are you? We're not sucking the fun out of warranties. I guess we just prefer to be honest and respectable consumers. Personally if I were a company and caught you sending me hardware you fried outside the warranty coverage, I'd screw you solid.

Wow, seems great that you guys can just come on here and nay say. Honestly, if you dont like what's going on, dont post in the thread.

Back to business:

So it seems that because the NV42s have been binned there seems to be little hope. However, the NV41's do have some room. Maybe we should start a fund to get mmz a new card in case he fries his in further testing

I nominate Mr. K6 for the first 400 dollars of that fund

Who is being a nay sayer? I am just observing. So far there is absolutely zero benefit of over volting your 6800GO...unless you want a $400 paper weight or additional artifacts.

To anyone attempting this - may the force be with you

In no way have I been trying to convey that message. I'm trying to say that if you do this mod, then accept the risks you're taking. I don't want people to be ignorant and if they fry their card start running around going "WTFWTFWTF WHAT HAPPENz0RSEd?"

I'm also directly aiming this at shoman's immoral attitudes towards warranties and what they should be used for. Warranties aren't there so that you can get free stuff when you knowingly break yours outside of the warranty agreement.
