XP installation question

I just bought a ferrari 4002 and I should receive it in a week or so, I was wondering. Is the cd key it comes with a OEM key? or can I use it with my retail XP home disk?

there's no xp cd given inthe ferrari package,
the oem key ucan see it below the notebook, the Xp sticker.
u can't use retail cd to work with OEM key.

so your saying you CAN use the oem key on the bottom of the ferrari 4002 to install a retail version of XP?

No.....I tried with SEVERAL copies of XP discs that I borrowed off the internet. lol. And my real copy too. You may be able to use it BUT when you go to Windows Update your out of luck

in that case, what does the acer OEM cd include extra on it?

acer only gives u recovery cd
that's install xp and all those acer junk automatically,
but it's not so much junk anyway not like some other brand that i've had before.

i used an original OEM cd to install a clean copy of XP ... the key on the sticker works with this cd ...

full retail or corporate edition cd's don't work with the oem-key ...

I guess the CD I used was an OEM version, must be why it worked.
