What do you use your notebook for in class?

At word of advice for all those who actually take notes in class with their laptops and not just internet and chatting: USE MS ONENOTE. Don't use word. Word is a piece of crap for taking notes. Jut check out onenote. It has folders and tabs to organize your notes for each semester and divide the folder into tabs for each class (at least that's what I do). You can also use onenote for voice recording and even video if you bring a webcam (or God forbid, and actual camcorder).

Aside from some Mac nerds, a guy with an old Ferrari and a couple of Inspirons, not many people have laptops in my College. It's saddening.

I use mine for all the stuff mentioned above. Sometimes I find myself watching a movie on longer breaks.

I usually do homework or browse the web during lectures. I am in a Chemistry lecture right now!!

Only very few kids bring laptops to classes. It might make me look like a geek.

I am an illustration major, senior, at an art school, so i use my laptop everyday for getting refrence photos, photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver, etc. Also for scanning, printing, using wacom tablets. When i am slacking off, MSN messenger, myspace, updating my website, and so on.

I would say, most of my classmates have laptops and bring them to classes.

I use the notebook for everything in class.
Ebooks, notes, homework, record voice, homework from another class. And often I can get the same powerpoint as the lecturer and just add notes to it.

How is MS ONENOTE?
anyone have office star? how is it?
I am somewhat sick of WORD.

What do you use your notebook for in class?

Curious as to how other students use their notebook in class.

Also, are there a lot of other students in your classes that bring their notebooks? Ask that cause I'm one of the few that does.

When my laptop worked (replacing it with a sager if it ever gets here *sigh*) I took notes in Word for my history/english/ etc classes but my math/circuit classes

Does anyone use OneNote to take math/circuit notes?

I am majoring in Computer/Electrical engineering at Auburn University and drawing circuit in Word is a pain. As is taking math notes. Any ideas? I know you can draw in OneNote but doing that with a touchpad is kinda hard also.

in big lecture classes u tend to see more laptops as they are usually the low level classes and pretty easy. i'm an EE major so i'm gonna get a laptop and a graphics tablet to draw circuits and edit the powerpoint notes. but forget taking math notes on a laptop, paper and pencil are still the best for math and will probably never be replaced.

Teaching. I'm a grad student and TA a lot using powerpoint.

and no, haven't seen anybody bring one yet. But then I'm teaching biology and am in South America. Laptops here are WAY over priced and the average income is SOOOO low that not many people have them.

I mainly use mine to surf the web and chat. my main reason for bringing it was to take notes but my main note taking class my teacher types everything for us and prints it out at the end of class. i have logged in WoW a few times.

In my database design class only 3 of us have notebooks, 1 is a dinosaur, 1 is a 17" toshiba of some kind, and then my XPS2. In my Operating System class i havent seen anyone else bring one. English class i am the only one also. i really dont see to many notebooks around campus at all, even though we have a wireless network to connect to.

i think ill look into MS Onenote though, never tried it...

MS Word for notes.
AIM
Browsing net
Battle Field 2 ;D (only in large lecture halls 300+ kids)

Forgot to add
uhm depends on the class. English, half the class brings it. American Government, only handful. Computer Science, everybody. Graphic Design, everybody. (:
