Sure they are. There are models that will have the speces necessary to run all of those programs. What size laptop are you lookng for and how heavy do you want it and roughly how much are you willing to pa?. These are the main questions becasue Tosh makes everything from ultraportables to high end desktop replacements and multimedia oriented laptops ranging from $600 to $3000. There are several models that will meet your needs (dedicated GPU, powerful cpu and good screen), just need to know more about the other otipns to find one that fit you.

If by advantages/disadvantages you mean in the brand toshiba, well they are just like any other brand of a product. Some people love them and others hate them, all for their own reasons. But the facts are that Toshiba has been making laptops/notebooks for as long as portable PC's have existed and they are one of the few companies to give truely global warranty and customer support with every model they sell.

sorry, i may be wrong there. but i saw a toshiba laptop with Go800 256MB on it...it's a 17"...anyone knows what's that model?

This is why I'm not going with Toshiba next, 3 laptops with them, but they are always behind on the graphics card (as is HP, Compaq, Etc).

The only two options I can find for the M60 is:
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900
ATI® MOBILITY® RADEON® X600 with 128MB DDR SDRAM [add $150.00]

The best I can find is the G25-AV513 with a NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go6600 GPU w/128MB DDR SDRAM; a few others have the same gpu, but nothing better.
