PROS-built solid, smart designe,no flex, under 5 ibs, muti-windows, screen works great outside, sexy , aluminum touchpad, speed, swap bay, awsome quick launch keys, on-screen display, easy to upgrade, Alloy HHD cover (disperse heat from HHD), textured keyboard, and did I say quality ?

Cons-no LED switch, fan is constantly on with the latest bios . That's all I can think of.

Specs:
Self built Asus W3a
1.7a Dothan @ default speed
1x512 Kingston DDR533
40gig 72krpm hitachi/ibm
2200b/g
infrared port-confirmed.

1.5 Banias (705) and 1.7a Dothan (735). 915 does not support Banias, learned this the hard way.

interesting HDD bay designe. It saved space and also provided the option to change to SATA.

On top of my old Gateway 4520GZ (M320)

Side by side: W3a 14inch WXGA and 4520GZ 15inch XGA. The 4520GZ weight .7 ibs more than W3a.

Notice the attention to detail during manufacturing process.

This machine reminds me of my Sig Sauer sp2340 in a sense that it’s constructed like a tank, but light at the same time. Plus there are other factors such as flexibility, reliability and attention to detail. Not a shooter forum sorry.
My original intention was to make this barebones into an “upgrade,” evidently, it turned out to be a completely new laptop. Nevertheless, I do not regret my decision because this thing kick so much butt.

Barebone-$540 USD

Heh, I presume the Banias didn't work in that laptop?

Nice pics by the way. But always remember, taking pictures of electronics should be done without a flash and good backlighting. It makes for less glare.

I think I'm in love

I did consider this laptop before getting my Fujitsu. Now I have ASUS-envy.

Nice pics, but you should probably consider resizing them for the forums and maybe posting a link through to high res shots. Even on my 1680x1050 resolution, it barely fits in wide enough. I can only imagine what the people running 1024x768 are going through....

Got mine here @ http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=DMZ63A-DVB&c=pw Although I got it at a slightly higher price. I would say 680 is a good price considering shipping is free. Loving the unit btw.
