Hi
Quick question.. will the Satellite A45 guide work with the Satellite A40? (if not are any of the other guides compatible?)

Great site BTW have spent ages trying to find something similar.

Thanks in advance

Gordon

Its hard to say. Take a look at the 45 and check yours over while doing it to see if there are that many differences. It should be very close

Buy the way, I replace Toshiba optical drives almost every day, but I never had a problem with drives they send to us. I never had to configur it. Just replace the drive and it works fine.
I just joined the forum because I want to add memory to my new Toshiba A200 and wasn't sure what to open up. Your self-help site would have been even more helpful if you had a photo of the entire underside of the computer, indicating which section contains the memory modules. That's really what I need to know! I can take out the old memory and put in the new memory in the same way, and Kingston's package gives instructions. But what section to unscrew? I hope when I check the underside your photo will have been enough. However, I'm glad I joined up -- since a search did not turn anything up to help me change the memory modules.

These disassembly instructions were made by CJ2600, a member of this forum.
This is the instructions for a G25 disassembly which should be pretty close.
Just click on each picture for an enlargement. You get to see the wireless card at Step 12 (page 2)

Found it! The anchoring screw is located inside the compartement housing the memory. Seeing one model where is was located under the keyboard made me think I could not access it from the back of the machine.

Thanks.

Thank You!

You cant, you buy them preset. Toshiba optical drives must be set as Master not slave

Thank You!
Take a look at this disassembly for an A215. There should be alot of similarities: Pick and choose the steps to get to the processor and disregard the screen disassembly sections. It may not be all there, but its better than a kick in the butt with a frozen snowboot
