CJ;

I would still be very interested in a Satellite 4070CDS breakdown if you happen to come across one. Also, it has been mentioned in other posts that some of you buy your HDD's direct from Toshiba. I have been through both the .com and .ca and can't find any HDD's

Great. But how about 5105-s607. That's my big prob. Thanks

For what it's worth, I just came across the Portege 3500 HERE if anyone's interested.

cj2600, any satellite pro 15's coming in the near future? Or are there any laptops that resemble it closely that you have pics of?

My harddrive won't boot up and i have a lot of work on it that i need. My plan is to get a new harddrive and put the old into a usb enclosure. I tried opening it up but have had no luck finding the hd. Most of the panels seem to have something else attaching them besides just the screws.

Also, do i have compatiblity isssues that i need to know about? I am looking at this.

Is the ata interface important to match with old?

thankyou

Are you talking about Toshiba Satellite Pro M15?
It is not enough just to remove screws. In most cases you have to disengage plastic latches. Usually, I do it with a guitar pick.
ATA interface is the same for all notebook hard drives (I haven't seen any proprietary designed interface yet).

How to take apart Toshiba Satellite P30 laptop

One more guide for Toshiba Satellite P30. I've never repaired this model before. It's exactly like Satellite A75, but bigger. Very easy to take apart.

How to disassemble Toshiba Satellite P30 and remove the system board

Does anybody have a teardown manual for a Satellite Pro M15-S405? There is a sound coming from the area to the left of the touchpad that sounds like a fan rubbing. I'm pretty sure that the hard drive is located there which doesn't make much sense.

Thanks,

Great work. I'd love to see the tear-down for the Satellite 5205 when you have the chance. I need to tear it down to clean/check the speakers. Ants!

How does one take off the blue cover on the front of an A75?
Mine is slightly scratched and I'd like to either refinish it or buy a new one.

Go to the link in the last teardown. I am sure he did a A70/A75 teardown

Unless I'm missing something, I didn't see it here:

It seems he was just showing the bottom case.
