Apple lies about the nano

Umm apple claims that scrathing is normal and the screens of the nano ipod hardly affected 1/10 of the ipod. Then why may i ask did J and R and other companies refused any orders of the nanos and why is apple replacing every single screen on the ipod nano with a differnet one? Umm seems liek apple should have a recall. I ordered my ipod nano from J and R and said that they will accpet any returns to coustomers who bought there ipod nano when they first came out in exchange to the updaded version apple will have shortly. They said its about a 2 week wait. uhhh i guess this was a bigger isssue than most people thought. I went to a local mac mall in my area and told me the same thing that they accpet any returns in exchagne for the new ipod reveison.

They are??? I dunno about anyone else, but I know two people with Nano's, and theirs and mine do not have defective screens.

defective in meaing that it is easily scratched.

they're replacing the Nanos w/ defective LCDs not bad casings (although w/ the all the hootin and hollerin about the screens it wouldn't surprise me if they took them back to avoid any further issues). the mentioned supply issues is based on the fact that various manufacturers may make only a portion of the LCDs, yet one plant may assemble them. i'm guessing they don't know specifically which ones got the bad batch of LCDs so they have to make the return/exchange policy for everyone. 3rd party retailers are probably not interested in dealing w/ the return issue. whether it's 1/10 of one percent, they may simply plan for the worst.

fwiw, the moment i considered getting a nano, i was thinking, "so how am i going to protect this?"

i've had mine for a few weeks, went running w/ it in my pocket, my girlfriend has carried it in her coin pocket, and i also carry it in my bag jostling around w/ the earphones. the minute scratches on it are exactly that, small and to be expected from the use. do i have a bad LCD? i don't know, but i'm not interested in treating the nano in a way that would help me find out.

This thing scratches no more easily than my previous MP3 player. They're just a hell of alot more visible because of the high gloss coating.

if u wanna prevent from surfact scartches then get those nano skin protector, u know what's funny if u put those on it look apple mini.

Holy crap, it's not like the old ipods were super resistance against scratches. When you have the kind of finish like you do on the nano, you've gotta expect scratching short of completely wrapping it up and putting it in the china display case...

Get real people. What did you honestly expect? It's not like it's made from brushed aluminum.

Step 1: Look at the name of the original poster.

Step 2: Look at his previous posts

Step 3: Proceed to laugh away at his credibility.

No compredo tu ingles.

Jesus, if you don't want it to scratch, buy a freaking case for it. We don't need to hear you go and whine about screens that scratch from normal use. If you are completely anal about scratches (which you seem to be by your posts) then let your ipod sit in the box. Nobody here really cares about the fact that you think iPod's should stay in perfect condition under normal use. Sheesh, you expect waaay to much.

I am going to have to agree with the whole get a frickin' case idea. I have a 20GB 4th gen and I love it. I keep it in a Booq case all the time and it has maybe a few scratches from when I first got it and kept it in my bag without a case. Besides you are not going to have people come up and look at your Nana and GASP at the fact that it is scratched. I would be more worried about the functionality of the player and frankly my iPod is top notch when it comes to doing what it was made to do (be a PORTABLE music player).
On one hand, it sucks to pay a lot of money for something that breaks like some of the Nanos seem to have been doing.

However... IT'S A PORTABLE PLAYER! It's bound to recieve a few nicks and scratches here and there, get over it.

i don't even have a case for my nano, it has some minute scratches on it, but c'mon scratches? who really cares about them? I don't. Does your cellphone have scratches?

I wish apple made the new ipods with the anodized aluminum like they did with the mini, now those were hard to scratch!

But, as long as my nano functions 100% then i'm 100% happy.
I just treat mine like I would any other electronic that I own...it doesn't have any scratches. I don't have any screen problems or anything else wrong with it either.
So are the nano's good or bad?
good! the real question is "Are you good or bad?"
I would say excellent. I'm sure we will have abf here sooner or later saying terrible.

My PSP has a few scratches here and there, no big deal.

It's the same principle and I'm sure the scratches aren't that bad. Suprised you didn't go on a tangent on how noisy the nano is...
