ubuntu networking (wireless) signal drop?

Last few days ubuntu breezy has giving me issues with wifi. That is, when i boot up i am connected, but only for all of 5 minutes, afterwards, the connection gets dropped, i think. Actually, the Connection Properties show a 70% signal and that it is connected, but when i try to open something in firefox, or even ping something in termnial

Code:
sudo ping -c 3 www.google.com

there is no connection. quite strange. so far i have basically reconfigured my wireless from the bottom up and it is holding up pretty well....for now, but i can't say the issue has bene resolved. any possible solutions?

ok, now this thread can be closed. i found the culprit. i installed wifi-radar and had the daemon load at bootup. it conflicted with the gnome networking tools and thus caused issues. so what i did is i removed the wifi-radar daemon from the boot-up list and now its all good

You still have wifi radar installed? Im kinda having the same problem except, mine connects fine, but every 5 mins or so drops then reconects (i think), cause if i d/l a file, its dls just fine then stops all of a sudden. Same w/webpages.
