I think you are right...5 hours of battery life would be great...and the battery will automatically lift the back of the notebook, it will reduce heat and it is more comfortable to write using that elevation angle. Anyway, I wont use batteries here at my house, I'll use batteries at school, and the weight shouldn't be a problem, I'm still considering the zd8000.

If you can give me more pros, you will convince me. Try!

I don't own it. I am considering the dv4000 myself. The battery picture is part of this review. See the review for a user's opinion of the 12 cell battery. Be aware, however, that the dv4000 reviewed has integrated graphics. The battery life of a dv4000 with X700 will not be as long.

Thanks for the link. I know that the battery life will be shorter with the x700, but the 12 cell should be around 5 hours, am I wrong?

I'm going to do this:
-Instead of buyin 1GB DDR (2x512) from HPshopping, I'll buy only a 256MB and an extra 1GB from newegg.com, this way I'll save around 90 bucks.
-With those 90dlls plus another 50 more...I'll get from HP one 6 cell AND one 12 cell.

This way I should get around 7 hours of battery life. In May, my classmates and I are going to visit a Nuclear Power Plant, it is located in Laguna Verde, Veracruz (the only one we have in Mexico). We will be traveling on bus and it will take us 22 hours to get there. I think 7 hours of battery life will help a little with the trip. Remember that it is 22 hours to go over there, and 22 to get back.

But now I have a question: I know that the memory of the dv4000 is DDR2, but is it 400MHz or 533MHz??? Which one should I buy??? I'm looking for a Kingston on newegg.com, and they cost pretty much the same.

mobility X700 and the WXGA screen really give you some limits in gaming.
however, hp or compaq doesnt offer the X800, go6800 ultra or even the go7800GTX.
