Replacing the right fan? Difficult?

Does anybody know how difficult it would be to replace the right fan that is responsible for air intake on the right side vent? I have a periodic buzz that I'm fairly certain is caused by the fan blade barely hitting against something. I wouldn't be where I could think about replacing the fan until December, but I was just curious as to whether it would be very difficult to get in there and switch it out or tighten down the screws. Switching out a fan in a desktop would be a piece of cake, but I'm not as adept at ripping a notebook apart as I am with a desktop. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Same here, I heard some weird cracking sounds two times on my Right fan... I am not sure if I had dropped something into the fan... it freaked me out.

Well, the most I've done is replace the keyboard which was fairly easy. It doesn't seem like it should be too hard to get down to the right fan, but it would certainly require a good deal of extra disassembly. Ah well, it's quiet for the moment, but when it starts buzzing it can get annoying sometimes. I already switched my hard drive out for clicking noises. I'm starting to think I have overly sensitive ears!

I would love to pop in a more powerfull fan, I don't mind the noise at ALL.

That won't help. This helps

As long as the air coming from the heatpipe radiator is hot, and I do mean hot, it will ALWAYS help to get extra air moving through that radiator.
A faster fan will do that foryou, just like on the left side of the lappy...

And slightly more practical than removing the keyboard...

It might not be the fan. Search the forums for "video buzz." It's probably the video card (which is next to the right fan). Do you have fangui? If so, you can temporarily disable your fans to isolate the noise.

Thanks. It's definitely the fan though. If I turn the fan off, the sound ceases immediately and only returns when the fan is turned back on. Ah well, it's not a big deal, but I may try to dig around down there and see if I can tighten some screws down. Otherwise, it looks like I may need to get Dell to send a tech out to replace it.
