I have one now and it still is going strong (specs in sig). I have even dropped it a few times and it was a steal for $1000 a couple years back. Only problem is the battery likes to work only part of the time, but i am happy with it.

What do others think?

I've never heard of a Winbook. Anything like a powerbook?

Not even close to a powerbook... a decent low-end PC laptop, that has been known to have issues with the LCD bracket; not rugged, but not a piece of junk... just middle of the road all the way.

I've seen Winbooks advertised in computer mags, never saw one in the flesh tho.

I have followed Winbook's offerings for the last decade or so, first in Computer Shopper and PC Magazine, and then on the internet. But I too have never actually seen one.
