Best Free Video Editor - Which One?

Hi folks,

I have some video footage in both Mpeg-2 and Avi and I need a good free video editor to create my own home videos and output in either WMV or AVI (DivX) format. Can you please tell me where I can find such an editor?

lists tons of programs, both freeware and payware for any kind of audio/video editing, converting, etc
