New Nvidia Forceware 81.84

Thread Starter

here we go, new tweaked 81.84's should fix alot of issues that people had with 81.82's
same process as 81.82's enjoy

first off, if i am going to help with drivers for a bit first off is how to install properly, using add remove programs, UNINSTALL OLD DRIVERS FIRST... and DO NOT REBOOT!
then get this Driver Cleaner Professional Edition and run it to clean out your drivers... then reboot, and THEN CANCEL when windows wants to install drivers on it's own, THEN INSTALL NEW DRIVERS. trust me, after a few changes of drivers, it won't be a hassle anymore, (also helps keep system clean, and stops driver issues)

EDIT : per request...
* To install you run the xtreme-g drivers, it will try to install the drivers, then error out, then copy the downloaded .inf to the extrated Directory, then rerun setup.
* IF you want to see the new control Panel that Nvidia is cooking up run : nvcplui.exe in /Windows/System32/
* By default, the installer will create an a StartMenu folder with a shortcut to the setup files uninstaller, a shortcut to run nVidia's installer, but you can tell the installer to not create that StartMenu folder. ( I think )

XTreme-G 81.84.v2

I'm still back on 77.77. 84 is no better than 82 in the glitchy video in WoW for me.

These drivers improved all of my gaming performance a great deal on my desktop, in Black&White 2 and Call of Duty 2 demo everything was about 4X as smooth as before at a higher resolution! Went from 20-30 fps at 1280x1024 to 60 fps at 1920x1200! I can't wait to install them on my 9860

Hmm I'm not sure if it's the drivers fault but I think it makes nfsu2 crashing after 2 seconds of racing.. would be glad if anyone could confirm that...

is this driver better for every game, or just certain games, compared to the 77.77 version. Which games is this optimized for?

Dr. Drache,

Appreciate the post! I noticed you are running the 6800 Ultra... I'm running the 6800 [non-ultra] on my Sager 9860 and was wondering if this version of 81.84 would work ok with it? Oh btw, the new mobile gpu version of 81.85 is out on the Nvidia site which states "GeForce Go 7800 GTX Only"... Would you know if this would run ok with my setup?

I've been running Sager's 77.70 version since ever since! But I must say that I've had no problems with it at all -- however I wouldn't mind any performance upgrades with a newer driver Any 411 would be appreciated... thx!
