That's about what I was expecting. Hopefully the internals will be better than the looks...

White, black & gray scheme and looks thick and bulky like the I-6000, totally dissapointed in what I have seen. But it might still be an ideal solution for those who think the I-6000 is too big and the 700m too small.
Hi NYCscorpio2000, where did you get the pictures you're talking about? Could you post some or point me to the link? THANKS!

p.s. If I can ask a stupid question... when do you guys think the release date is going to be?

EPluribusUnum, I got the photos from a member who replied to this thread. If he gives me permission to send them, I'll forward you the email.

As I read on another thread from ChristOphe (http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=113559) there's going to be a new Dell Inspiron 630m 14.1-inch TFT widescreen. Has this machine nothing to do with the XPS M140? Is the M140 going to be a sort of “spin off” of the 630m?

I got the magazine for the XPS Experience Nov. 2005 Edition with XPS info:

http://dell.com/xps11

E-Value Codes: 6F902-D81112Y OR 6F902-D81112X

The link above is not live yet, but I have the November 2005 XPS Catalog... upon request I can scan and post the pics.

DELL XPS M140 / Inspiron 630m:
5-in-1 media reader
OPTIONAL 14.1" TrueLife display
SHARED DDR SDRAM (I guess they expect gaming from "intergrated graphics" LOL)
5.5lbs, about 1/2 pound more than the Inspiron 600m
According to the catalog, price starts at $999
LOOKS Like a Inspiron 6000 / 700m Hybrid (battery sticks out, keyboard and styling and colors like the I-6000)

we need some pics here

Some pics would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance! So, no dedicated graphics uh! That sounds plausible for the 630m, but the M140 should definitely have a dedicated gpu! Maybe the difference between those two notebooks will be the presence of decent graphics in the M140. What do you think?

Can you please post these pictures?
TIA

so the M140 looks like a shrunken i9300, with a slower FSB and integrated graphics? sounds like a gaming machine to me...
does that mean bye bye i9300
No i doubt it since a M140 with a 14.1" screen and integrated graphics serves a different niche.
what on earth is the XPS 200???
