Dude, I'm getting a Dell XPS M170!

I just ordered mine on Sunday (October 9th) with the 30% coupon . I am hyped because I have been following the XPS Gen 2 since July and have been waiting for a decent price drop. I was nearly going to order it in August but the coupons were drained quickly so I had to wait- and then the 7800 GTX came out (along with Dell's new campaign) plus the 30% coupon...I couldn't hold out any longer! In my signature, you can see what I purchased. Yes, I play games so the power in this notebook won't go to waste. The games I mostly play are Halo PC, DooM3, StarCraft and Age of Empires. I also compose music on a program called Finale. I am currently on a Dell Inspiron 4100 and all I have to say is this: 6% (if that) left...I even took all of my games off this system and it's still low.
I do have a favor to ask of those who own this powerhouse of a notebook and play Halo/DooM3: Would you mind posting some in-game screenshots for me? I don't care of what- I just want to get a taste of what I can look forward to, since my Inspiron 4100 doesn't let me play with shadows, specular or any eye candy whatsoever...

I ordered an M170 two days ago. For those that have experience ordering through DELL, should I consider their expected ship date (Oct 19) set in stone, or do they tend to ship early or late?

Was yours already assembled (dell outlet) or did they have to assemble it? Is it a m170 or the gen 2 thats in your sig? Thanks. I also ordered mine on the 9th and have the same ship date, but mine is in the in production phase with nothing checked yet.

I was in the same phase but it just switched to "kitting" this afternoon. Can I expect to have it shipped by Friday perhaps?

mine took a bit longer to ship (5 days total in production) but it wasnt that bad and i had the 7800... supposaidly that added a couple of days to the process...

I ordered mine on Oct. 9th and tonight it says it's in testing. I'm assuming that means it's ahead of schedule, assuming testing goes well and it ships immediately afterwards.

well it goes from where it is being built to texas and then out... so there could be a day or two of transit time in there as well.... i know it was like that for me.
