I should have mine at the weekend. Can't wait to try it out!! I think I'm going to call my new machine Hal9000 or Gal9000. Probably Gal9000

Jumping on the M170 bandwagon! Ordered 10/10/05, now in testing! Horray! $2,077.90 shipped for a 2GHz, 1GB ram, 100GB 5.4k HDD, 2200 wireless, personal shield, and 7800gtx XPS! Hoping to get it by friday!

Also ordered a 2405fpw to go with this, ordered yesterday. M170 might actually beat the 2405fpw here! LCD still in pre-production.

I ordered mine on the 6th and has been "in production state" since then. I am in Canada. Does anyone have any experience with the M170 (with 7800) how long it takes to ship?

My original M170 had the personal shield and noticed that when i spec'd it, there was a significant delay (about 2 weeks). When i changed the spec and cancelled the shield, the system went to boxing the same day i ordered it (w/o the shield). See my specs below.

Yea, when I ordered my M170 2days ago, I noticed the personal shield had a expected 8day delay but I heard alot about how scratch prone the metallic top of the xps is so I went ahead and ordered it. I am in the US and i was ordered on the 10th about 6pm, now its in testing. So I guess 24hours testing, hopefully be shipped out tomorrow and get to me Friday or Monday

I hadn't really considered bothering with the shield beforehand, but I might go ahead and order one now if the top does scratch a bit easily.

...and Mellocelloguy, mine went to boxing at about the same time. I guess our systems are brothers more or less. Although yours is the big brother, as I got the 6800 ultra.

im in canada and mine with the 7800 took about a week to ship and dell is saying a week from ship date to delivery at my door....
