Craig has taken a step down from being a forum member and has become a moderator for the Alienware Section. cheers Craig. Have a banana:

Also, it looks like "The Alienware Section *read me* " thread isn't getting much activity. Doesn't anyone have any ideas they would like to share? I thought someone would have at least wanted to try to get a picture of their Alienware notebook in to replace the Sager pic. I guess I need to have more patience

When Adam approached Aurora and I about this idea, he orignally asked if we (aurora and i) wanted to make our own design or ask you guys for some input. I thought that y'all would appreciate having a say in this forum. So far, just 4 replies and 160 views...

First off,
Thanks guys!

Secondly, YES! Let's see if we can't throw around a few ideas in that thread as to how we can spice up our section of these forums.

This goes without saying...Rock on Adam for allowing us our own Green pastures to graze in! I have an account down in Sarasota that I visit once a month...I plan on stopping in one of these days and drooling over some Sagers!

Congrats on the promotion Craigster!

In my honest opinion, I think this forum needs a DEDICATED site. Maybe just a vbulletin registration for our alienware talk (www.alienware-forums.com?). I can host it on my server if need be.

I'm a web designer and coder, so if there's enough interest here, I say we form a group of individuals to get this thing off the ground.

I have the artistic talent roughly equivilent to that of a 5 month old golden retriever puppy. In other words, my wife thinks I'm cute, but can't even draw a stick figure

I'd certainly be happy to help out in other ares of the site if I can though!

I'll tinker with Photoshop and see if I can't put something together. It'll at least be worth a good laugh

Looks like our friend Craig has 2 reasons to celebrate 1) He finally got his laptop and 2) His forum promotion. Congradulations Craig . I guess I got my wish anout being right behind you in the delivery I got my tracking #'s today!!!!! I let everyone know what I think when I get it.

Oh ya...and M42 gets a HUGE vote by me for his talents with design! Check out his sites...A+ Work. Help us out with some graphix brother!?!? A sweet banner mayhap?

If that were the case, I'd be an Admin!

It takes a special someone to step down into a moderator's role... (I like that wording, aurora).

I don't think you should split off, as that would mean one more forum for those of us who like to browse ALL brands of laptops to check into constantly.

Besides, I hear that soon users will have the option of "removing" various sections of the forum they are not interested in. That'll be sweet.

Congrats, Craig, and I am looking forward to what you all do with the AW section!

Thanks Kat...everyone here is just great! And that sincerely extends to Sagerites

I think the main feeling is not to necessarily change anything, but to add a different "Vibe" to these channels so as to differentiate us when someone is linked here by Google or something along those lines. If it ain't broke, don't fix it...and this ain't broke fo sho!

I am always lurking in Sager and Notebook General sections. There are some very well educated people posting here and I, for one, am always looking to learn something new.

I agree with Craig about just changing the "Vibe" as for everything else this is still apart of talknotebook I'm thankful that we have the Sager,Toshiba fans, etc all in one group. Seriously this forum is very educational for someone looking into purchasing a high performance laptop. I for one have learned alot here.

That's a sweet pic! Keep the ideas coming guys!

As far as a pic of my laptop here's the short story: My Digital Camera, PDA (Ipaq3975), and work laptop (POS Armada) all stolen a few months ago. Company has paid me for the PDA and Dig camera (they were mine) and has already replaced their laptop. So I swung the money they gave me for the PDA and Dig Camera into a Dell Laptop for my wife for Xmas...kicker is: The dell (inspiron 5100) came with a FREE Kodak Digtal camera (WAY nicer than my old one) AND a Dell All In One printer The printer is no great shakes but we've been using a $69 Epson for 3 years so I'm sure this will be somewhat of an upgrade as I've usually headed to Kinkos for any real prints I've needed done.

So...pics will have to wait till after the holidays BUT hopefully then I'll have a nice dual display setup happening anyways. I've got some major travels coming up to end the year and won't be able to tweak my desk area till then anway.

m42, i'm in the biz, checked out some of ur stuff, did u do the php code for that first site? if u did design and code hats off brotha, wonder how much time it took although i'm sure some things were reused but nevertheless extremely well done.

as far going to some other site although i think it would be cool having a alienware geared specific site i doubt it would ever be supported by the people that run this site, just not in the best interests to say goodbye to any group of users let alone potential clients. nothing wrong with that, just the facts alienwareforums.com is a good compromise but i wonder if that entails ftp access to be able to add functionality to that section of the site? if so that would be cool.

now i'm not saying this original forum system sux cause i kinda like the idea of having a forum that covers all laptops as well however it would be nice to see collaboration ideas for alienware community like many other portal and communities sites out there geared towards a hobby or such.

just my 2 cents
