I installed the demo all seemed o.k. as soon as the game kicks on right after the intro i get an infinite sound loop and a blue screen of death.

This is with the ATI mobility drivers cat5.9 from ATI website anyone else experience this?

Well first off, you should really use the current driver provided by Asus on their support page (support.asus.com). You can't go wrong with those. If you don't want that, I would suggest the Omegadrivers (www.omegadrivers.net) over the one you downloaded. I tried on the ATI mobility drivers on my Z70V way back, but it didnt work out too well. Some may say it's the same as Asus', but I beg to differ.

I appreciate the suggestions I had the omega's installed on my dell 6000d, (ATIx300) and never had an issue.
Just wanted to give the mobile cat 5.9 a try, and I kinda like the CCC I use it on my desktop which runs an X800XT PE without a hitch.

By the way which one are you using and did you give COD 2 demo a try?

thanks

Good post, funny thing is, I was about to start the same one... I have the exact same problem, using cats 5.9 as well... The wierd thing is, the game does work about one out of seven or eight tries... Just gotta keep messing around with the config each time and hope it works

Is the "Force DirectX 7" option turned on? Turning it off might help. Other than that, I agree that you should update your drivers.

I have the exact same issue, but it's with the Cataylst 5.8's from ATI. I haven't upgraded to the 5.9's yet. I guess that's probably the problem. I'll probably go with the Omega drivers, they should work better.

The game actually runs, but only in safe mode, which is all effects off, and res at 640x480, which makes the game uglier than the first Call of Duty lol.

Just downloaded the demo and I've got the omega drivers installed. It plays just fine. Well, there's your solution.

Edit: Also thats with full settings and the Force DirectX option. Excellent graphics & gameplay, I have to admit.

Thanks Mike for being the Guinea Pig.

Hey, anytime. My cable service at home is a whole lot faster than my T1 connection at work. Heck, after getting a powerhouse of a laptop, I'd test it out on anything! ...that is if I've got the time.

I would own all of you if I can play games at work. I got a super dooper pooper scooper with sli and a slick 19"lcd and some very expensive mouse/key combo from logitech. Have not played on it yet but i would be the master and comander if i did. I am good you all need some practice including you grudge boy.
Come back when you score a headshot, may bee i ll bless you with my presence in the online gaming world

I dont play online, I think the computer is much more fun to play against than some nerdy kids online. I just wish I could play Counter Strike and World of Warcraft without having to go online and see all these idiots screwing up the whole thing.
On NBA Live i play with some friends every now and then, not into playing strangers or some ghetto-fabulous poser online.

But as for my "fast internet connection", I don't mind downloading some demo to test out for all you peeps, just as long as I have time for it.

Bf2 and cs2 is some sick isht. I liked them both. Same here. Only game i play online is americas army which i am surprised nobody heard of. Greatest free game ever made. My handle is wh0sh0tu
That and partypoker where i just loose money. 5 years ago there was no online casinos. Look what what this world has come to. We are all going to die

Hey Dio, who's your reseller? I also returned my z70va to get checked out.

I downloaded and installed the Omega drivers base on the Cat 5.9's, which are the newest omega drivers, and I still have the same problem with the COD 2 Demo. It still crashes and the system reboots just after the description of the level.

CS:S also still runs great. I dunno what it is then, except maybe just a bug in the demo.

I am trying to run the COD2 demo with the Omega 5.9 drivers on my z70va When I launch the game I just get a black screen. I've tried adding -window to the shortcut, to no avail. Any advice?

Hmmm... That's odd. Afterall, we do have the same hardware. I've got everything at default settings aside from CHC running on it. No overclocking. The Omega Drivers were install with default settings, and it played fine at very high settings. For the people with problems, do you all have the latest drivers installed also?

On a side note, I had problems with their website, so I also have the latest Flash, Shockwave, and Quicktime on it too.
