5-6 months.........its still tip-top looking forward to a 7800 go upgrade. Or i i might just get the new one.

Seven Months

I've had my 9860 for seven months. I'm supposed to get it back on Wednesday after sending it in for repairs for the third time and replacing some components myself. This time it's a whole new machine except for the display. So, I guess, since I've sent it in three times, I've had it for something over 5 months.

Next time, if I buy a Sager (=> D900K), I'm planning on researching and purchasing an on-site warranty. That likely would have cost me less than all of the shipping costs I've incurred.

Its hard to get laptops that will run 4-5 years without problems these days. This may be due to the power hungry and heat monster CPUs and GPUs. I certainly don't expect to run these machines for more than two years. Seems to me that a lot of the high end graphics workstations from Sager and Dell needs servicing within their first year.

I've had my Sager 5680 for 2 years and it has had zero problems other than normal wear and tear. The case cracks near the hinge, and I'm on my 2nd keyboard (I use my laptop much more than the average user). The original keyboard was still serviceable. but had gotten too mushy for my tastes and the raised spots on the F & J keys were worn off.
