First, I have heard that some people say that the problem with sparkles tend to go away after a while, kind of like the panel needs some working hours to prepare, is this true? Has anyone had this experience?
Second, if I opt for a replacment, is the Samsung screen always better than the LG ones? I have heard that it might be better when it comes to sparkles, but that it has more problems with light leakage, true?
Sparkle as some call it, is the anti reflective coating on the lcd screen, on an LG panel it looks dusty metallic, on a Samsung its a transparent patterned sheen and not noticeable, the samsung is a better panel, offering a brighter screen and better viewing angles.
Sparkle does not go away. Light leakage does however.
The LG screen has punchier colors, but the samsung is brighter and better viewing angles and no metallicy sparkle and you can adjust the samsungs colors in the nvidia control panel to match the lg's nice color so I would definitely get a samsung panel as a replacement, telll dell you specifically have the LG and specifically want a samsung and dont give up till they do this for you.
Yes the samsung panel generally has more light leakage, mine was very severe when I first got the laptop but over the course of about four weeks its mostly gone, all lcd panels have some light leakage, the samsung has more initially because its an overall brighter panel, I like mine alot and have used both panels. Dont be scared by light leakage, it does dissipate.
