Linux on 5720?

Anyone here running Linux on a 5720 (or 5710, even)? I don't see any stories here or even googled, which starts to make me scratch my head. It don't feel like I need to worry about the nVidia 7800 much (usually the most important piece)...but I wonder about the wireless, camera (nice to have working, but not crucial). I hope to purchase one tomorrow or the next day but am looking for any red flags.

Not that it should make a difference, but I'm largely wedded to Red Hat (FC3 is what I run on my 5600 now).

Any help/feedback appreciated, 'cept to start a distro war :-)

A model number is nice... but what brand is it? Nvidia is supposed to have excellent open source support in comparision to ATI. Intel WiFi cards are detected fairly easily, and require less setup time. Broadcom WiFi require ndiswrapper and the windows driver and are trickier to setup, YMMV with other wireless cards, compiling drivers is no easy task.

What kind of cam is it? In windows is it a usb device, or is it using some sort of propriatary bus (I have a built in card reader in my lappy, it is a usb device). If the camera is using usb you have a fair chance of getting it working.

Good Luck,
James

He is talking about the Sager 5720, which I believe is the new 17 incher Pentium M + 7800GTX go to compete with Dell's XPS M170.

Sorry, I thought it would be obvious given the source. I'm referring to the yet-to-be-released SAGER 5720. What I didn't realize until moments ago is that the 5710 is new, too - I thought it had been out for a bit and the 5720 was only the nVidia upgrade.

I may wait a little bit to see what happens to the price of the Sager 9880 or even
dream that the new 9720 is in my range.

Thanks!
