Call the local police department there. That would be your best bet, otherwise its very doubtful. Also you can try and get the phone number of the residence and call up. Ive seen punk kids scam people, get tracked down and then someone calls and there parents pick up and have no idea what there kid is doing. I would never pay by cashiers check to someone with out references and especially not to someone with only a few posts.

I filed a complaint at: http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/
Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)
my advice.. take him to small claims if you live a relatively close distance from him.. thats the only surefire way to get your money back.. in order to do this.. you need his real name.. real address.. and real phone number.. as other people have suggested to me. you can start my sending a certified letter to him/her.. and then use a search such as inteliUS to dig up more info on the guy...

Seen him around ignoring me again so I though I would just say that DARKLOKI is untrustworthy and a dealbreaker. DO NOT DEAL WITH HIM.

He will make you ship first and then duck out of the deal. Granted he paid me an extra $20 and still promised the shield, but the deal was for a XPS Personalization Shield and Transformer Insert to keep my top from getting scratched, which thanx to DARKLOKI, my top is now scratched and I still have no shield. The deal was made back in aug or sept i think and still no shield and still no response in PM land. SHADY!!!! BE WARNED.

DO NOT DEAL WITH DARKLOKI>

Hey Khukho, I have enough info to do my "special" search. I will let you know what I find.

update... lol... i found who lives in apartment G... muahahhahahaha.... and B, and D.... no Z yet...

I would pretty much bet the name is fake. Or a modification of the real. I have been psychologically cross-comparing all the names of everyone listed as living in that complex for a singularity... only problem with my damn data is it has at least 30 names at that address and no apt numbers. If I can find who lives in "Z", that is enough to nail them for fraud or accessory to fraud.

You know you can call the issuer of the check and have them pull it and see the signature and ID mark on the back. That should ID them easily, unless they used one of those check cashing places.... (no ID) but at least they will have a pic... I'll keep diggin.
The person cashed it at Bank Of America. So, the name on the check must be real. Thanks for helping out.

I have no pity.
Ok here I admit that I screwed up but I sent over 40 dollars in PAypal I think (The actual dollar amount that you asked on the Adaptor), and I ended up breaking the shield, the tabs on the buttom snapped meaning the shield does not hold place onto the laptop. IF you want more money tell me I'll send it over. Sorry. I'll willing to send over another 30, would that satisfy you? (grand Total of 70 dollars) PM me your paypal Info and I'll send over the money.
That sounds reasonable to me. Hope that get's resolved.
In the end 55 + 40= 95 Dollars was sent to pay for a Power Adaptor for a XPS laptop. Granted the money was sent over a period of 2-3 months, and I admit to messing up. But I generally always leave the opposite party satisfied in the end, they ALWAYS get te Upper Hand, Don't belive me? Ask the last 5 people who have dealt with me. And the reason why things were slow was because I was busy with Year End Work, So Merry Christmas to you.

Just wanted to say we hate that any of this happens guys.

We just installed a new setting so that you need to have at least 25 posts on the forums to post in the For Sale section.

Hopefully this will help keep some of the trash out of our world. They seem to come in and setup scams with their first post or two.

Again, we hate to see this and are doing everything we can to combat issues like these.

Dead beat time waster. Offers to buy and send payment, but doesn't send payment and also does not reply to PM's regarding the transaction.

POOR TRADER: Deggs_37

I tried to work it out, but deggs just was dishonest left and right. I posted a message in his initial thread when he was looking for a PS3 calling him out, and he conveniently decided to delete the thread so nobody else could see it.

The story: He was looking for a ps3, I had a ps3. He said he had a sony s360, painted blue, with an extended battery, with 1.5 gigs ram, and 14 months best buy warranty. I offered an extra 30 bucks and God of War + 60gb PS3 for the sony.

He agreed under the condition that I ship it to him overnight. I didn't like the idea, but because he seemed trustworthy I agreed. I continued to ask him questions about the laptop, asked him if there was anytihng wrong with it (this is before I shipped out the ps3). He told me the only thing wrong with it was that the f12 key was missing. I thought, not a big deal, missing a key. I asked him if there was anything else wrong with it, and he said there are just some small chips on the paint. Fine. I ask him about the warranty, and he said there is 14 months left on the warranty from best buy and he would transfer it and send me the paperwork. This was sunday. I sent out the ps3 on tuesday (monday was martin luther king day) via fedex overnight as agreed with the god of war game and 30 bucks cash. He gets it the next day and promises to ship the laptop out Wed. Fine.

He contacts me wed and tells me hasn't shipped the laptop because it is the first time he has transferred warranty and he wanted to make sure he got all the paperwork right. He tells me he will ship it on thursday first thing.

Thursday passes, and there is no response from him (he was supposed to ship the day after he received my ps3) even though I PM'ed him each day to checkup on the status. I gave him some leeway as he had over 1,700 posts here on the NBF, and decent heat/ebay. On saturday he contacts me and says he's having personal issues and decides and apologizes and will ship the laptop out on tuesday. Fine

Tuesday comes along, and the laptop is shipped and a tracking number is received (relief). Thursday comes along and I receive the laptop.

I open the box all the hardware is there, and works okay but cosmetically the laptop is in really subpar shape - here are the things that are wrong with it:

1. There are no rubber feet (not a big deal)
2. The wifi key is broken off
3. Two screws are missing from the bottom that holds the keyboard down
4. There are 3 "dark spots" on the screen
5. The paintjob is pretty poorly done. He basically took a permanent marker and drew in the VAIO sign on the top. The best part is he used a fat marker and went all outside the lines.
6. He tried to reuse a windows sticker (but the sticker was obviously reused because the bottom was bent up) to cover deep scratches on the wristpad.
7. He removed all the USB/Ethernet port covers.

Althought the 3 dark spots are annoying on the screen, i've come to accept most of the flaws.

Next, he didn't send me the warranty papers as he promised that he claimed was the reason why it took him so long to ship out. I PM him every day for about 3-4 days.. no response. I finally post in thread the story, and he resonds that day (surprise surprise) and deletes his thread. He says he is sorry and will send out the warranty that weekend (Jan, 27-28th). I even remind him and he says okay.

It is now february 4th and i have yet to receive the warranty he promised. I tried my best to be patient and understanding, but I think there is a line that needs to be drawn between being lenient and the need to be more assertive. I did everything on my part word for word. Perhaps its my pet peeve that I have of people not doing what they're going to say, but I believe I have been very understanding up till this point.

I jsut wanted warn anybody in the future that doing business with deggs_37 might lead to some concern.

Call the Police in his local area, if he is in a metropolitan area ask to speak with someone who can help with online fraud. He may think twice before ignoring you if he is getting a call from his local police office.

Why wont it work? Are you overclocking? Or missmatched ram speeds? Or some chipsets are picky about sizes.

Im sure it has a lifetime warranty just ask him politely.

Also, what contact info do you have? A phone number is a must for me, i hate talking on phones but if deals go sour, or if im out of interwebz then i have the phone to keep in contact.

Highly doubt hes a troll since the ram is what you bought, did he say anything was wrong with it in his post? Look at the mf'er's website see how their warranty works, you might not need a recipet.

Start making demands if this ram never worked in the 1st place its time to tell him either he own up or your calling the local law enforcement in. San Antonio is a big town just ask for a person who specializes in online fraud.

make sure you give him a legit amount of time to reply as well. a week or two should be sufficient.
