First Notebook

Thread Starter
I've been shopping around for my first notebook recently, and I was wondering if anyone could offer me advice as to what I might need. I will be using it mainly for homework and gaming. Any additional info would be great, but I have a few key questions I would like answered:

1) What specs am I going to need to be playing games like WoW?

2) Which processor would be better suited for gaming?

3) Any suggestions for a GPU?

Also my ideal notebook would have a long battery life and weigh under 10 lbs., so any insight I could get into this would be much appreciated.

When I was researching for my notebook.. it mostly came down to ASUS and Sager. For under 10lbs.. I would recommend the z70va, which I currently have, or the Sager 3880. The z70va is ~6lbs, has a battery life of 3-4 hours (of course this depends on what you're doing) and the 3880 is ~8lbs. The z70va has a 128mb ATi x700 and the 3880 has a 128mb Nvidia Go6600. The x700 has slightly better performance overall than the 6600, but both are more than capable to run WoW on high settings. You can get barebones for both and fully loaded, can run you up to $1500-$1600.. depends on where you buy from. Oh, they also both have 15.4" screens.. the perfect size for multimedia and portability. I suggest getting a Pentium M (which both mentioned models have) or an AMD Turion for mobile processors. Let me know if you need further info about these two. There's a lot of info already in this forum, including issues for both notebooks, so search around. Goodluck.
