5660 - Wireless network and standby mode...

I have the Linksys Wirelessnetwork Card and Access Point and I use it with my Netgear 4port Switched Router setup...

Anyways when I close the lid on my 5660 and it goes into standby mode it always loses my wireless connection - is there anyway to make it so it doesn't disconnect when I go into standby?

Thanks in advance...

I am not sure I understand your question. Do you mean the wireless connection doesn't reconnect to the access point when you bring the computer out of standby mode?

Yeah it connects after I bring it out of standby mode but I was hoping there was a way to keep the connection alive while I am IN standby mode...

No, standby means exactly that. The computer basically goes asleep in standby mode. If you want to close the lid, but not have the computer go into standby mode, you can do that by changing the power options in the control panel.

Yeah, standby is complete nonactivity. Why did you want to put it in standby but maintain the connection? Your hard drive is inactive during this time...? Let us know and maybe there are other suggestions available.

umm...you could try going into power properties under control panel and clicking on the advanced tab. Then change "when I close the lid ... bla blah blah" to read: "do nothing". Obviously this will suck batteries down pretty quick so make sure you're plugged in or off before closing up...
