Toshiba P25-s477 questions

Hey all!
I'm new here and just found this forum, so I thought it'd be the perfect place to ask my stuff.

I just recently bought a Toshiba P25-s477 and it's awesome. No problems with it.. yet.

I just have some questions.

I have the NVidia GeForce FX Go5200 video driver and have my brightness setting set to a little bit more than halfway and contrast at about the same, and the gamma set at .80. Thing is.. this doesn't seem to be give adequate amount of brightness and sometimes my screen looks a little less vivid as it should be.
If I set the brightness or contrats any higher.. it seems to look TOO bright.. as in it'll be all whited-out. Anything lower than that is a little too dark and drives me nuts. Also, I'd be worried keeping the brighness any higher all the time in fears of it killing off the backlight faster than normal.

I can't seem to be able to find the best setting.
I was wondering if there's any other settings on here that I can tinker with and see if that helps?

I'm REALLY new to this stuff and not very knowledged in the NVidia department at all, as you can see.. so please bare with me.

For those of you with the same computer.. where do you have your settings set at?

Any suggestions and info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you played with the Fn+Brightness keys on the keyboard with each gamma setting? Often, there is a Fn key combination to press to get the brightness up and down (as well as sound volume, etc).

Try monkeying with that using different gammas and what-not.

hmmm

I know I'm gonna sound stupid asking this, but where are those settings? lol
I followed your directions and all I got was a section where it only shows the status on the drivers under the "adapter" section.

sorry my mistake, select the nVidia GeForce tab instead of the adapter tab and over there u will find lots of controls
