gateway bad touchpads?

used some of the gateways at best buy, touch pads seem really bad, have to push on it , more of a push pad.

Mine is fine. Maybe they lowered the sensitivity on their display models from all the kids coming in there beating on them or something.

Also, if the touch pads get a lot of greasy fingers on them, they can become less sensitive to touch, thereby requiring more pressure. My touchpad works fine - but I use a mouse as much as possible. I also clean the keyboard/touchpad regularly.
